The Getty Museum

This last weekend I went up to UCLA to visit Nathan.
With a day to enjoy Spring Break together, we decided to jam pack it with fun things!
We started with walking around Westwood in search for some yummy food!
We ended up getting street tacos at Whole Foods! DELICIOUS

Neither of us had been to the Getty Museum, so we headed there next.
Traveling as a child as well as studying in England has made me appreciate museums and art alike.
I love admiring the artists techniques as well as learning about the controversy many artists experienced concerning their art.
Not only does the Getty have a great array of art pieces; sculptures, sketches and paintings ranging from the 1300's till now with Jackson Pollock's Mural, it has gorgeous gardens that you can enjoy outside.

With people spread out on the grass lawns enjoying the sunshine and others walking throughout the gardens enjoying the various flowers and vegetation, it reminded me of a painting in itself.

From Nathan and I to you!!

The Count

"Life is a storm, my young friend. You will bask in the sun one moment, be shattered on the rocks the next. What makes you a man is what you do when that storm comes. You must look into that storm and shout as you did in Rome. Do your worst, for I will do mine! Then the fates will know you as we know you."
- Alexander Dumas, The Count of Monet Cristo

Hello Spring

Lemon Asparagus Pasta
&
Tulips

If you live in Orange County or California for that matter, you may have noticed the change in the weather.
About one week ago the rain was falling and clouds covered the sky…
now we have bright sunny days in our weather forecast. At first I was hesitant of the coming of Spring and didn't want Winter to end.
The moment I stepped outside, felt the sun on my skin, and melted in the heat...
I was sold. With Spring and Summer ahead I could just see the pool parties, hikes and barbecues in my future!
To celebrate I decided to visit my local Trader Joe's to grab some flowers.
I picked some gorgeous tulips; yellow and pink/purple.

FUN FACT: tulips mean perfect love.

To further the celebration of Spring I made a
Lemon Asparagus Pasta.
Tangy and delicious!

A few adjustments were made to the recipe.
< cayenne pepper >
< lemon juice >
< extra garlic >
